Kentucky is home to many wonderful youth programs that help to foster the educational interests and pursuits of the state’s youths. The Kentucky YMCA has tons of different programs for young people. Some are simply fun in nature and allow children and adolescents to play their favorite sports,to go swimming, or just to attend camps and other fun activities. Others, however, provide serious opportunities for youth in the state. One such program is the Kentucky Youth in Government Program. This program allows adolescent participants to learn about the government and even to participate in it at various levels. It offers scholarships and many other opportunities for personal and educational growth. The Kentucky Youth Assembly is a similar organization, and teens from all over the state participate. Both programs are designed to help teens understand how the government works and to gain real life experience with the legislative, executive, and judicial systems.
